FIRE WARDEN TRAINING
This course is designed for employees who have taken on the role of Fire Warden or Fire Marshal. The training meets the requirements under the Fire Safety Legislation Fire Services Act 1981-2003 . All businesses are required to have designated staff, trained as Fire Wardens or Marshals, who assist the appropriate / responsible person in the business in providing a working environment which is safe from fire. The appropriate / responsible person also has a duty to ensure the safety and full evacuation of the premises in the event of an emergency incident. Fire Wardens or Marshals may have a range of responsibilities, for example checking fire extinguishers are in place and unused or testing the fire alarm on a weekly basis, but their primary role will always be in assisting in the safe, full and controlled evacuation of the premises.
The course can be delivered at your premises, our training venue, or online via zoom. Our courses are delivered by experienced fire safety personnel, who draw on real-life examples to provide training that is relevant, interactive and memorable
Training of a designated fire warden /Marshals for your business. This training course equips participants with a comprehensive knowledge of their duties and actions to be followed during a fire or emergency. It emphasises the danger of fire, the importance of prevention, the necessity of urgent action when fire breaks out, and the role of the Warden/Marshal.
Certification: North West Fire Safety certification with is CPD approved and provided after successful completion of the course.
Objectives :

Understand the speed of Fire
Identify fire hazards in the workplace
Identify & maintain portable fire extinguishers
Assist in the management of Evacuation Procedures & Drills
Method of Training :
This course will be conducted by a competent Fire Safety Advisor with the use of flipchart, DVD, aids & PowerPoint Presentation.
All our courses are to CPD approved standards, and are presented by fire service personnel, with QQI level 6 instructors.
Our instructors are 3rd level qualified and are or have been active members of the emergency
services.

The dangers of fire and how it can spread
The main causes of workplace fires and fire preventative strategies
Fire classification and the methods of extinguishing different fire types
Human behaviour in a fire situation
Actions to take in the event of a fire
Evacuation strategies and progressive horizontal & vertical evacuation
Fire safety checks and how to complete a fire register
Practical hands on experience of discharging appropriate fire extinguishers
Opportunity to put out a live fire using our specialist equipment
Demonstration and practical training on the correct use of a Fire Blanket
